Frequently Asked Questions
Do you sell other fundraising items?
No. Our entire focus is on making pewter fundraisers and helping your group successfully sell them.
Do you do other things beside churches?
Yes. We have worked with schools, historical societies, nature societies, chambers of commerce, etc. We will work with any group that would like a custom fundraising medallion.
How do we request a sample?
You can receive a sample by filling out the form on our site or by calling us at (828) 274.8165
Some other fundraisers claim I will make more money. Why should I use your medallions?
Sometimes claims are based on unrealistic assumptions. (Can you really sell 10,000 candy bars?) Others require a great amount of participation, preparation, and labor. There are others, still, that conflict with your church's values. Our medallions are unique, heirloom quality momentos that members of your church will save and treasure. All it takes is some promotion on your part. This fundraiser will not require lots of helpers. You can expect to make between $1100 and $5500 depending on the size of your church.
What is pewter? I thought it contained lead?
Pewter is an alloy that composes primarily of tin. Eighteenth century pewter contained lead. The alloy we use is :"fine" pewter and is 100% lead free.
Does pewter rust?
No. Over a period of years, it may develop an attractive, gray patina.
How long does it take to make my medallions?
Please allow us 90 days to complete your order. Orders for Christmas should be placed by Sept. 1st.
Will you do a rush order for us?
We can not give a definite answer to that on line. If you would like a "rush" order, please call and discuss it with one of us to see if we can accommodate you.
Will you do a layout for us before we place our order?
We do not generally do a layout until we have an order and a 10% deposit from you; however, we would be happy to do a layout before you place an order for $100 artist charge.
Do you have a set-up fee?
No. All costs, other than shipping and insurance, are included in the price of our church fundraisers.
Can we order medallions on-line?
Our site does not have the "shopping cart" you may be accustomed to seeing, but you can place your order by email. Just make sure to include all the information we ask for on the order form, attach a jpg. of the photo or drawing, and tell us the 10% deposit is on the way.
How many should I order?
We recommend starting with 100 medallions. If your church has over 500 active members, we invite you to call and we can discuss ordering size. We can fill reorders (25 minimum) quickly. We discourage over ordering as we want you to sell every one you order.
What kind of artwork do you need to create a layout of our medallion?
We can work with a photograph (regular or digital) or a drawing. Sometimes line drawings will be on stationary or your bulletin. We will do our own drawing from whatever you send us.
We have an artist in our congregation. Can he/she do our drawing?
Yes. Be sure the artist calls us so we can explain our specifications. Our experience working with artists has generally been unsatisfactory. What looks great on paper does not usually translate well into metal. We encourage you to trust our judgment and experience in doing layouts.
Can you send us 1 sample of our medallion before you ship all of them to us?
No. We do not send partial shipments. Because of the nature of our production process, once we have one ornament finished, the entire group is virtually completed. We would be happy to ship your entire order as soon as we complete it.
If we order early, do we have to pay for the medallions when they are finished?
No! We encourage you to order early. Theoretically, you could place your order in March and not have them delivered until Nov. 15th. We bill "net 30" after your fundraising ornaments have been shipped.
My bookkeeper wants your social security number so we can send you a 1099. What does this mean?
Your church is NOT required to file a 1099 on "goods purchased". Our social security number is not necessary, and we will NOT provide it.
How much is shipping and handling?
We ship UPS. We charge the actual shipping and insurance cost. There is no handling fee. Depending on gas prices and region, shipping runs $15-$25 on a box of 100 ornaments.
